To plan means to think about and arrange parts or details of something before it happens or before it is made.
If we are headed to Paris, there are Details that need to be Arranged before we begin our breathtaking trip to the City of Lights. When will we leave? Where will we stay? What will we do when we get there? What is our budget? There are many questions that need answers.
Of course, we don’t have to arrange any details about the trip, we can wake up, head to LAX and hop on the next flight to Paris. Winging the whole trip may work, and will most likely be a blast, but it’s extremely risky.
A little planning goes a long way in reducing risk.
We tend to naturally plan for life's major events. We plan for weddings, retirement, vacations, anything we want to control the outcome. We even plan when to have children. These events are planned because they are important, and we want them to operate smoothly and as close to our vision as possible.
Your business is just as important, if not more because it can supply the funds and freedom for retirements, vacations and provide your family with the lifestyle they deserve.
We see successful people and think “they must be lucky” but like Nipsey said, “Look at where I started, look at where I’m standing, y’all can say it’s luck but I know that it’s planning.”
The opportunity will be disguised as luck to the spectators, but the players know, opportunity is only luck to a prepared mind. Opportunities are everywhere, if and only if, we are ready for them. Planning makes it clear what needs to happen when an opportunity arises. Planning keeps us focused on the big picture. The time is now to plan.
