The Bottom Line is, we need Money to run our Business, we run our Business to make Money.
But what is money? What is this thing that determines if our business is successful? What is this thing that determines if we are profitable?
I was about 10 years old when my grandmother’s twin, Sunny, came to LA from Trinidad. He took this red piece of paper out of his pocket and said “you see this money.” I said "this ain't money." As I examined the paper it did look like money. The details, the artwork, the look, the feel made me realize he was not lying. I just had never seen Red money before, I did not know money like this existed.

Many years later, I met someone from Sierra Leone. He pulled out a bill from his country, and it had a picture of Joseph Cinque, tall and proud. If you have ever seen the movie Amistad, Joseph Cinque was the man who led the revolt on the slave ship, La Amistad. It shocked me to see a black face on a paper bill. I did not know black people were honored on the same money which powered a nation. I was blown away.

These two experiences changed my relationship with the American Dollar. I realized how fake money is and how easy it is to obtain. Money is a tool created by man, which if used strategically and properly, you can make it do whatever you want. Money is nothing but a piece of paper with no real value outside of the value society gives it. We as people decide the value of paper monies. Research Germany in the early 1923, you could have had 1 million German Marks and that may have gotten you 1 US Dollar. Paper money has no real value, except the value we as the people give it.
